S & R got married on a perfect late October day at St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino, just outside Cranbrook, BC. The stone building was a great setting for the ceremony and family photos, and with so much beautiful nature around, we had lots of options for more rustic shots that really fit the vibe of the East Kootenays.The day started with Ryan and his crew getting ready at his parents’ log home near the ski hill in Kimberley. Meanwhile, Samantha and her bridesmaids were getting ready in the St. Eugene building, just steps away from the ceremony site. After family photos, we headed out for some fun wedding party shots by the St. Mary River, and then to a special spot Ryan had found with a fantastic view of the valley and the Rocky Mountains in the distance. But honestly, the best part of the day was all the genuine moments between the couple and their families. As a photographer, I’m always on the lookout for those real, unscripted moments – the laughter, the tears – and this day had no shortage of them. It was clear just how close everyone was and how much they meant to each other.

I’m already excited to shoot here again and really get to know this venue better! The St. Eugene Resort is such a unique spot, and I can’t wait to see how it looks in different seasons. Looking forward to more weddings in Cranbrook and Kimberley – such a beautiful area with so much to offer!
