One of my most popular offerings over the years has been my maternity and newborn photography package here in Kimberley, BC. I absolutely love when a couple books both sessions, because it means I get to share in a little more of the excitement leading up to their baby’s arrival. Whether they’re waiting to find out if it’s a boy or a girl, wondering if baby will come early or late, and later getting to hear their birth story when I see them again….it feels like such a special journey to be part of.
I truly believe both of these stages are worth documenting. You’ll only be pregnant with this baby once. And even though pregnancy can feel long in the moment (I definitely know that from experience now!), it’s actually such a short season of life. A maternity session is a chance to slow down for a moment and remember what this time felt like before everything changes.
The same goes for the newborn stage. The days and nights can feel long, but it passes so quickly. My own baby is only a year old at the time of writing this, and I can barely remember what it felt like to hold him when he was a tiny six-pound little potato (yes, that was his nickname for the first few months, lol). The photos I took , in the haze of sleepless nights and the blur of learning life with a newborn, are what bring me right back to that time. Those early newborn photos become such meaningful reminders of just how little they once were.
Booking both sessions with the same photographer means they get to share in the joy right alongside you.
